Wooden headrest. the pillow is carved separately from the base and incorporates a rectangular plug. The base has two loops on either side (one broken) and is carved as a rectangular box, open at the top, with vertical bands in shallow relief on the two long
sides. A lengthways hole through box and plug allows the two halves to be fastened together. There is pokerwork darkening of the box surfaces, a + mark on the base, and signs that there may have been lugs.
